Important safety notice about Wireless landline power back-up. 

We’ve become aware of a manufacturing error in some wireless landline power back-up units. This is the black box that goes between a wireless landline connection box and the wall power socket to provide back-up power in case there’s a power cut. 

Your phone is fine, but the power back-up unit can cause overheating which may lead to a fire risk. Since your safety is our top priority, we’ve made the decision to recall all power back-up units.  

It’s important to unplug your power-back up, then plug in your wireless connection box.

Once you’ve disconnected your power back-up, just drop it into your nearest Spark Store. If you need to store it at your house in the interim, we recommend you keep it in a cool dry ventilated space, for example on your garage floor or kitchen bench. Please don’t expose it to direct sunlight, rain or water or place it in an enclosed space such as a drawer.

In the meantime, keep it in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from sunlight, water and soft furnishings. A benchtop or garage floor are good options.

What about your landline? 

Your landline will continue to work without a power back-up. But it’s important to remember that it won’t work if there’s a power cut. If you’re concerned about this and you don’t have a mobile phone to use, just call our team to discuss some alternative technology options.
